We do not ask for special categories of personal data. Please do not send us health, biometric, religious or similarly sensitive information. If you need accessibility or dietary arrangements, tell us only what is necessary for us to make them.
3. How we collect it
Directly from you, through the registration, speaker and partnership forms on this website, through on-site registration at SEE Institute on the day of the festival, and through any email or message you send us.
4. Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To register you and admit you to the festival: necessary to provide the service you asked for.
- To send your confirmation and the practical details for the day: necessary to provide the service you asked for.
- To email you about the festival: on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- To review speaker applications and partnership enquiries: to take steps at your request before entering an agreement.
- To plan capacity, safety and access at the venue: our legitimate interest in running a safe, well-organised event.
- To improve the website and understand what people are interested in: our legitimate interest, using aggregated data wherever possible.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for automated decision-making that produces legal effects.
5. Photography and filming
Photography, filming and audio recording take place throughout Founder Fest DXB. By registering for and attending, you acknowledge that you may be photographed, filmed or recorded, and that these images and recordings may be used by SEE Institute and its partners for promotional, marketing, editorial, social media and archival purposes, in any format and across any media, worldwide, without payment or further notice.
If you'd prefer not to be featured, speak to a member of the team or one of our photographers on the day and we'll do our best to accommodate you. If an image of you has already been published and you want it removed, contact us at [PRIVACY CONTACT EMAIL] and we will remove it from channels we control.
Sessions may be recorded. Speakers are told in advance and asked to agree separately.
Your personal data is handled in line with this policy and applicable UAE data protection law.
6. Who we share it with
- The venue: SEE Institute and The Sustainable City, where required for access, safety and security on the day.

7. Storage and international transfers

The festival is intended for an adult audience. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 18 without the consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has registered without that consent, contact us and we will remove the data.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the festival is planned and delivered. The date at the top shows when it last changed. Material changes will be communicated to registered attendees by email.
